Sleep Research Institute

Unraveling the mysteries of sleep to make a better world through sleep

The Department of Psychology and Humanities, which includes several faculty members with expertise in sleep science, has established the Sleep Research Institute at Edogawa University—the first research institute of its kind at a humanities-based university in Japan—through collaboration with external scholars.

The institute engages in empirical research addressing various issues related to sleep and its improvement, employing specialized facilities and equipment such as a soundproof, electromagnetically shielded room designed for sleep and cognitive experimentation.
