This page has been put together in response to numerous questions concerning the tools I have been using in the construction of my personal homepage and that of Edogawa Junior College, where I am employed. I am a registered user of all the software mentioned specifically by name. HTML Editing While there are many people who have constructed very fine homepages using a WYSIWYG editor for HTML files, I prefer to work with code. The editing program I use is Macromedia's Homesite 5.0. This editor have been recognized consistently as the best of its kind by several computer magazines. It provides good Help files, has a tutorial, and ships with an integrated validator program that checks for code errors. While the English version of Homesite can be used to construct Japanese language pages, I now use the Japanese version for this . For info on the current version of Homesite.

Image Design and Editing For graphics design and editing I use Paint Shop Pro 7 by Jasc Software. In addition to being a powerful image editor, it ships with Animation Shop 3, a program for creating and editing animated images. Photographic Hardware The older photos appearing in my homepage were taken with an Olympus C-1400L (D-600L in the US) digital camera. This model continues to perform well, but I now use an Olympus C-4040ZOOM. This modes is more powerful (4.1 megapixel and higher resolution settings) and has more sophisticated features (such as panorama shots). Uploading For uploading HTML and image files to the server I use WS_FTP95 Pro 6.0 from Ipswitch Inc. The process of managing your homepage files couldn't be easier. The learning curve for this program is in the neighborhood of five minutes. WS_FTP95 Pro 6.0J is available in Japanese.   Useful Links For your graphic needs this site will certainly get you started. If your in the market for a stand alone animation construction program you should try this very popular shareware from Alchemy Mindworks Inc. There's lots more of interest at this site as well.
