He has recently been a Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Education, University of London.
He was leading, from 1997 to 2001, the project of "Research and Development of Faculty Development Programmes for Media Literacy and Skills in Instruction" (MLSI in short) at the National Institute of Multimedia Education (NIME).
He chaired the steering committee for the NIME's 2004 International Symposium of e-learning in Higher Education,
Starting in April 2001, he is leading a new project of "Faculty Development for
Media Literacy and Flexible Learning Support" (FDFL,

NIME offers training courses for higher education faculty members in Japan. Hiroo Saga leads the following courses.
